I am looking for relatives, last name of Volckaert, living in or around Antwerp, Belgium. My great grandfather was Octave Volckaert. He immigrated to the U.S. when he was 21 years old sometime in the late 1800s and eventually settled in Laurel, Mississippi. My grandmother's name was Mamie Hortense Volckaert and she married Robert Rufus Martin in 1912. Their son (my father) was Norman Corneil Martin. When he was a baby he traveled with my grandmother and Octave to Antwerp and stayed with family for several months. My grandmother kept in touch with one of her cousins by the name of Sophie (Sophia?) until shortly after World War II. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
