I am looking for the parents of John Vaughan, and wife, Mary Elizabeth Whitaker, who gave birth in 1818 to William James Vaughan in Halifax Co, NC. Other children were Amanda, Robert Alonzo and Romulus Washington all born in SC. In 1850 the family was in Morgan Co, Alabama, where John died. The rest of the family, including William James wife, Martha Speaks Basham, and Amanda's husband, Jason Alexander, moved to Texas. before 1860. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
