Descendants of William Snowden Rundle: Searching for any history I can find about his homesteading in Clay County, Kansas. William Snowden Rundle and Alice Heath Rundle came to Clay Center in 1869 from Salcombe, Devon, England. They built a dugout after arriving there while proving their claim. They lived in Hayes township. One of their sons, Henry Harry Rundle, married Mary Elvina Small, whose parents Horace L.C. Small and Charlotte Rood Small, came to Clay County in 1869 also by covered wagon from Dane County, Wisconsin, and lived in Exeter Township and later moved to 5 Creeks where they ran a ferry for about 5 years. Would love to exchange with anyone knowing about either families as well as any history about the area. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
