My name is Deanna Sanders and I am searching for my birth sister. Her name at birth was Rita Marie Mitchell. Our mom Maureen Rose Mitchell was in a Catholic maternity home, (Marillac Hall, at 29475 Inkster Road in Farmington Hills, Michigan 48018), prior to Rita's birth. Rita was born at Providence Hospital in Detroit Michigan. Rita was born with a hernia and shortly after birth she had to have surgery. I believe she was adopted approx. a month or so after her birth. Our Mom is of Irish descent, she has auburn hair with blue eyes, she is very fair skinned with freckles, 5'7" and is small framed. The birth Father's name is Donald Ramirez, he is of Hispanic descent, I believe him to be about 5' 11". Our mom was 18 when she conceived Rita, 19 when she gave birth, yet was forced to go to the family priest who met with both families involved and it was decided for our mom to be placed in this maternity home for the duration of her pregnancy. While at the maternity home she was continually made to believe that she was not, "good enough," or worthy of being a mother to Rita. The guilt, lack of self-esteem and pressure was so substancial that our Mom gave in and let Rita be put up for adoption. Our Mom has searched for Rita for years with no luck. I would love nothing more than to bring us all together. Rita has 2 brothers and many neices and nephews. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
