I am searching for my dad's birth family. He was born 1 Nov 1932. He has recently passed away and information is vague and myself and his common-law wife have varying information. I was told his mother's last name at birth was Self and her father was a minister. Born around the Brantford, Ontario area? Father's name James? Born on the 6 Nation Reserve possibly? His wife thinks he was born in Mimico (Toronto, Ontario and either mother or father last name was Self, but I think she thinks this as he was raised in Mimico and adoptive family lived there so maybe his birth certificate showed this after being adopted. If anyone has any information would be greatly appreciated by his daughter (just curious about his family). His name at adoption was Alvin Self (as per his wife)???
