Looking for biological father AND ANY FAMILY I may have through him. My mother got pregnant around June 1954 and was unmarried at the time. Though, according to her, my father did want to marry her, she refused and skipped town. I was born 6 months later in early December and barely survived. But I am here today thanks to a very strong will to survive. I'm looking primarily to learn what my ethnic and cultural roots are and especially, the health issues of the women on my father's side of the family. I have had breast cancer 3 times now between 1999 and present. The breast cancer hit me at a young age (mid 40s) I want to know more about my background. I have some valid reasons to suspect that my father's family is Jewish which makes medical issues even more of a serious thing for me and my daughter and granddaughter. Certain Jews carry the mutated genes BA1 and BA2 for breast cancer. Any further information that could help my doctors in my treatment would be invaluable. Father went by the name "Gene" but full name may have been "Eugene." And my mother's names was: Thelma Joyce Wood. They knew one another in or near the Fresno area of California. My mother graduated from Clovis Union High School, also in June 1954. Plus, I desperately want to connect with the family I've been denied for all my life. I was born on Dec. 4, 1954. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
