I have reason to believe that my mother was adopted from Ontario, Canada in 1933; her name is Ruth Collins; her adopted dad's name is William Henry Collins and her mother is Lily Brantley Collins; they are both deceased. I have been trying to search for ny mother's birth record and have not had any luck - really, really odd. I did, however, come upon several sites that give me reason to believe she was adopted, which would truly explain a great deal about my mom to me and to my sisters; she is very closed off and secretive - never wants to talk about her family or her past. She actually has said she hated her dad, but was close to her mom (my grandmother). I also looked up the family line and all my mom's brothers are listed, as well as a sister who was deceased at the age of 2, but mom was not on the list - very very strange. I'm not sure, but I cam across the name Schwenderm, Marlene born on 4/29/1933 (my mom's birthdate is May 1, 1933) in Hamiltone, Ontario, Canada, and there are records of a William Henry Collins and Lily Collins as passengers from Quebec to the U.S. - I don't have those dates however. This is quite puzzling to me and if anyone has any information, I would so appreciate it! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
