I'm female and I was born in Frankfurt, Germany on August 30, 1967. My birth name was Mirjam Diana Müller (Mueller). My birth parents were Brigitte Mathilda (Mathilde or Matilda?) Fischbach and Alfred Müller (Mueller). At the time my parents were reportedly 19 (Brigitte) and 20 (Alfred), which means they were born in 1946, 1947 or 1948. My father was then a house painter and my mother unemployed. My birth parents married about 23 days before I was born, on or about August 6, 7 or 8th, 1967. My understanding is they were divorced a year from the following January, in January 1969. I'm unsure how long they were together or separated, or what Germany's divorce laws were at that time. I believe I was with one or both of my birth parents for the first 7 to 9 months of my life. I was then put in a foster home in Camberg, Germany, now known as Bad Camberg. I was adopted by an American couple living in Germany when I was 20 months old. A few years back I found an Alfred Müller with a specialty painting business in Münich (München), but have not made contact since I don't know if it's the right Alfred. The business was formed in 1973, so it could be him. The web site for the business is http://www.malerei-mueller.de/. At the same time, a woman with my mother's name was wished a happy 58th birthday in a church newsletter posted online as a PDF. I don't know if I can find a copy of the newsletter, which I saved at the time (it was possibly lost in a computer hard drive failure). I believe she was in a town somewhere north of Frankfurt. Again, maybe or maybe not my birth mother.
