My family has lived in Western New York State near Lake Ontario for five generations that I know of. The earliest Smythe ancestor I have found is Thomas Smythe (wife Phoebe Roome sp.?) and he, his wife, and several children are buried in Greenwood Cemetary in Kendall, NY, where he had a farm. My problem is that the Smythe spelling was apparently adopted by them from the original Smith. I'm at a dead end now and would appreciate any help or suggestions. I do know that Phoebe came from NYC, maybe Brooklyn, and possibly Thomas did too. My tree is posted at http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/s/m/y/Randall-H-Smythe/tree1.html?Welcome=1043425624 Can any one help? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
