I am female, 45 years old, born 11/09/63 in Hillsborough County FL to a woman who would be approximately 63 yrs old now (2009). My natural mother was an 18 year old high school senior with only one credit left for graduation. She had to quit school to go to the home for unwed mothers in Tampa, FL, but is described as average to above average intelligence. She is described as having been 5'6 1/2" with blond hair and blue eyes and a mediumly fair complexion, a dry wit and excellent sense of humor making her quite likeable. She is described as nearsighted in her left eye. Her father was born in the North, was of English and Native American descent, a captain in the Air Force who was medically discharged and later died. Her description of her father was that he was disagreeable, demanding, and tyrranical. She had a sister who was 16 yrs. old at the time of my birth and whom she described as athletically inclined and even tempered, of short build, small bones, and blue eyes with blond hair. My natural birth mother described her own mother as being 37 at the time of my birth. She, too, was from the North, had lived in Florida and worked for a telephone company, but at the time of my birth she had left Florida. Known Birth Father information: He was an 18 year old high school senior, 5'10" tall, of medium build,with dark brown eyes and hair and a medium complexion. He is described as coming from a family of some means with an older brother who had been a star athlete in school and was now married. I was adopted in January of 1964 through the Children's Home Society of Florida. My parents traveled from their home on the Georgia-Florida border to Tampa, FL. to get me from the children's home. They paid a total of $180.00 in adoption fees for me...which my husband says is a bargain because I cost him more than that every single day. That is all I know. On Father's Day 2009 my adoptive father gave me all the paperwork surrounding my adoption and told me all as was known to him. I would like to just know what happened to my birth parents and how they came through. I would like to thank them too for doing what they did so that I could be here writing this letter and to let them know they have grandchildren and will soon be great grand parents.
