Searching for Aitken connections in Witborn, Slamannan and Uddingston. Documents for family of Robert ,known to have been born 1858,in Witborn. He married Annie Aitken in 1880 at New Monkland, her home. Wedding banns and certificate indicate his home to be at Slamannan. Documents have his father Robert Aitken b. 1829 in Slamannan as well as other siblings. Robert and Annie with children immigrated to U.S., (Pittsburgh) from Uddingston, arriving in the U.S., early 1900's; joining Aitken famly members already settled. All my research leads me to believe the Slamannan connection, however a visit to Scotland several years ago couldn't make a match with any current Aitken's in the area. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
