I was born on August 2nd 1979 at Women and Infants Hospital in Providence, RI. I was adopted immediately from birth by my family through Providence Chidlren and Family Services. I am searching for my birth mother who I believe was 19years old at the time of my birth. I was made aware that the year before I was put up for adoption, my birth mother had another baby girl who was also put up for adoption through a different agency. Therefore, I am also searching for my half sister who would be either 30 or 31 by now and was also adopted. I am 5'4 with brown hair and brown eyes. I am told my ethnicity is Italian, Portuguese and English. The English is coming from my birth fathers side. My birth mother was 5'7 with brown hair and green eyes I believe; she had a brother. I am told that at the time of my adoption my maternal grandmother was going through her second occurrance of breast cancer. I received what little information I have through Providence Child and Family Services non-identifying information. However, my adopted parents received something in the mail shortly after my adoption was finalized in October 1979. It stated "the adoption of Lynn Silva"...this is not my name. My parents always assumed that this was an error and possibly the name of someone in my birth family. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
