Felix HART and his father Teddy HART were born in Ireland, places and dates unknown. Teddy HART married Mary (maiden name unknown) in Ireland. Teddy had at least four children: Felix born in Ireland, Bridget and Ann born either in Ireland or Maryland and Timothy who was born abt. 1810 in Maryland. He relocated at some time to New York City. Teddy HART negotiated for a Mexican Land Grant in what is now Bee or San Patricio Counties, Texas. Teddy died en-route to Texas aboard the Brig, Albion abt. 1829. The Widow Mary HART was awarded Teddy's land grant and her son, Timothy, was awarded a partial land grant. Felix HART was born in Ireland, date and place unknown, and married Bridget CARRIGAN who was also born in Ireland. The couple remained in Ireland until at least 1822 as documented by the birth of their daughter, Catherine HART, in that country in 1822. Bridget, Felix and Catherine emigrated to New York between 1822 and 1829. It has not been determined if the family traveled together or if Felix traveled separately from Bridget and Catherine. This later date is documented by the birth of their son, Timothy HART in New York abt. 1829. Felix HART also applied for a Mexican land grant in the south Texas area which eventually became San Patricio and finally Bee County. There was an administrative problem and Felix and his son Timothy were awarded a full and a partial land grant in 1834. This later date of the grant is the reason that several genealogies have Felix and family arriving in Texas in 1834. Felix and Bridget lived near the Papolote Creek in what is now Bee County. They had one more daughter, Ann who was born in Texas in 1835. Felix HART was murdered in 1837 and Bridget removed the three children from Texas to Matamoros, Mexico to escape the turmoil of the Texas Revolution and the horrors of General Santa Ana burning a path across south Texas. Catherine HART married David CRAVEN in Matamoros in 1837, Catherine HART married Luke HART (no relation) and Timothy HART married Mildred McKinney. I would like information on where Teddy and Felix HART originated in Ireland as well as any information regarding Bridget Carrigan and teddy's wife Mary MNU. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
