Query Text: |
I am looking for the parents of Matilda Schulz (Americanized to Schultz) who was said to be born to William and Caroline Heller Schulz in Hamburg Germany on Jan 14, 1850. I want to confirm her parent's names. Matilda immigrated to the US in May 13, 1872 along with August Kappel aboard the SS Jason. From the Port of New York, they went to Sterling, Illinois. They were married either overseas or in the US. Matilda had a sister, Augusta, born ~ 1838 and married an August Pollnow. They came to the US in 1873. One of her brothers, was Theodore Schultz and I believe she had two other brothers, Albert and Herman who were all born in Germany. I would like to confirm the identity of her brothers and any other family info. Matilda apparently could read and write only in High German. When her second husband J Johnston died at Oberlin, KS, a neighbor lady wrote to the surviving relatives because they could not read/understand her writing. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. trina Attached is a picture of August and Matilda Kappel; child is Albert taken about 1874. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
