I am searching for information on John Little, who died 21 Oct. 1855, age 79, and is buried in Union, ME. On his tombstone is noted "Born in Hampstead Wells," but no birth date. I am wondering why his monument is part of Ebenezer Alden's lot, mounted above the large Alden tomb? John Little ran a tavern/hotel on the Common in Union and is mentioned in the town history as being on committees etc. I believe he and Alden may have had a store together, as well, but I wondered if they were related to have similar markers monuments on the same lot in the cemetery. In the 1850 census for Union, I find John Little age 74, wife Sarah Little age 72, Lydia Little age 50 and John M. Little age 25. Any assistance would be appreciated for us to add to information in our Historical Society's archives. I found online the index for a published book titled, "George Little Genealogy." In the index are listed pages for John Little and Union, ME - pgs 77, 136, 206, 372, 482 and 840. I would like to have scans of these pages, if someone would be so kind. Thank you in advance for any help provided. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
