I am searching for my half sister who was named Linda Gay Wood at birth. She was born 10/23/1951 or 10/24/1951 in Richmond, VA at the Brookside Home for Girls. Her mother was Jacqueline Gay Wood and her father was John Cash (not the singer) who was a private in the army. Linda was put up for adoption when she was 7 or 8 months old. A nice Catholic couple from North Carolina who couldn't have children supposedly adopted her and most likely changed her name. Linda had dark hair and blue eyes when she was born and weighed approx 8 lbs. Mom tried as hard as she could but was unable to keep Linda due to financial hardship and social conditions. Jackie died of cancer on August 10, 1987. She left behind a husband, and 4 living children of which I am the oldest. My dad died of cancer in 1993. He was not Linda's dad. Mom told me about Linda when I was 26. Linda has 2 half brothers and another half sister. I have one daughter who is 30 yrs old.
