LAPORTE, DELAPORTE, TANNER, SMITH. First, my apologies to anyone who has unsuccessfully tried to contact me re an earlier query posted in 2006, - I have changed my e-mail address since then. I am now seeking descendants of Coralie, Janine and Elsie, daughters of Percy and Maria Tanner, also known as Smith. Percy emigrated to South America in about 1911, under the name of Smith, and ended up in Brazil, where he disappeared in the 1930s. He was the eldest son of JOhn Silvanus Tanner and Regina Delaporte (daughter of Charles Kroll Laporte and his wife, Agnes), and the brother of Jack Tanner, who became president of the Amalgamated Engineering Union, and Cyril St. Leger Tanner, my father, who changed his name to Frederick Charles Blake. All three were syndicalist anarchists as young men. Wendy. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
