My name is Eric Farrell. My father's name is Thomas Edward Farrell, and my mother's name is Marilyn Pitre Farrell. My father was drafted into the army during the Vietnam war. I recently ran into someone at my college, named Lauren Farrell. Her father's name is, perhaps not coincidentally, also Thomas Farrell. Her ethnic background is Irish-Italian, and her Irish ancestor's name is O'Farrell-the same as mine. The thing is, I'm Irish-French. I was wondering if there is a possible connection between us-our ancestors shared the same last name, so I suppose there is a distant one at least. I haven't found any site that has the information I'm looking for yet. I'm also looking for anyone who has information on the Farrell history-when my Irish ancestors came to America, information on the Farrells, etc. In other words, I'm trying to trace our family histories to find a connection. Can anyone help?
