My mother and her twin brother were adopted in 1929 by a couple in Alamosa County by the name of Short. Father: Edward Short, Mother: Edna. Family lived in Monte Vista. Seaking birth family of my mother. Birth name was listed as Barbara Anne Taylor, but I think name may have been issued by hospital/orphanage as I suspect birth mother died in childbirth. Adoption was handled by Catholic Charities. Have attempted to obtain birth records in past and was told we needed court order. My mother is still living, but all others related to adoption are deceased. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
