August and Ameilia Neumann came to Cheboygan in the fall of 1883. About 1893 Wilheim and John Neumann came to Cheboygan County with their families. John came with his parents Christ and Mary Nieman (various spellings). Were these men brothers? They all belonged to St. Thomas Lutheran Church and were each others godparents for their children.
