My name is Joy Leaphart and I am an English teacher at Cass High School, here in Bartow County. In addition to teaching, I recently enrolled in a graduate school program (Master of Arts in Professional Writing) at Kennesaw State University. I am currently researching the life and legacy of Mrs. Rebecca Latimer Felton, who--as you may well know--was something of a Cartersville celebrity during her day. What is the purpose of my query? I am attempting to locate any surviving relatives of Mrs. Felton for the purpose of interviewing them. I have found no listed Feltons in the local phone book, which was my initial step in making contact with a family member. My next step would be to trace her family tree to see where it may lead me. Can you offer any information related to my search? I realize that you may not be able to provide more than just names, but that's a great start compared to what I currently have, which is zilch.
