Birth Mother/Father/Siblings/FAMILY ************************************* Good Day- I am eagerly searching for my Birth Parents. I was born Fred Hayes on July 14, 1966 at Coney Island Hospital. I was later adopted in my preschool years by Hollis and Hattie Landrum who resided at 498 Bradford Street Brooklyn, New York. They changed my name to Fred Hayward Landrum. During my preschool years I do recall a social worker coming by the house and seeing a psychiatrist because I would not talk. I am not sure if I was a ward of the state or if something tragic happened prior to me becoming a foster child to the Landrums and later adopted. I really would just like to know. Both of my adopted parents are still living and I don't have the heart to ask them. Please, any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I have now been registered with G's adoption Registry since 2007 as well as the NY state adoption registry and the ISRR. To date I still have not gotten my non identifying information yet?I understand my birth mothers name should be on my decree of adoption, and my adoptive parents probably does have it ...Someone told me theres a possibility that in the court room the adoption took place there is a minutes book which would have my name or birthmothers...listed along with my adoptive parents name as the other party or the state?I had someone take the last digits off my birth certificate and match them up in the birth index to get my birth mothers name and was told...even though my adopted mother may have an amended birth certificate the original birth is listed in the birth index of manhatten 5th avenue and 42nd? Is that true? I am now 43, happily married with a family of my own and really am eager to find my birth family. Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
