My father-in-law is Joseph Fleet SIMMONS. He was born in Progress, MS, February 11, 1910 and died in Garden Grove, CA on Feb 11, 1985. He was married to Norma Amelia Marie LASSIG on Jan 22, 1943. She was born August 6, 1917 in LaCrosse, WI, and died January 21, 2003, Albany, CA. Joseph and Norma?s children: Larry Joseph and James Edward. I have a great deal of information on the LASSIG and DEUTSCHBERG background for Norma. I have good paternal background on Joseph Fleet, as described below. I am looking for maternal information on the SIMMONS family line. Looking for information on Robert Lee SIMMONS from Mississippi (MS) b. 1876 and died in 1942, MS. He was married to Lillie ALFORD, b. in Simmonsville, MS 1876, and d. Oct 7, 1977 in Progress, MS. (She was 101 years old!) Robert and Lillie's children: Clyde, Joseph F. Feb 11, 1910, Progress, MS, d. Feb 11, 1985. I have no info on Lillie's mother or father other than father's name: Claude "Dock" ALFORD. Robert's mother: Annie HALL, b. 1848. Robert's father: Willis Fleet SIMMONS, b. Pike Co, MS, May 6, 1848, d. Simmonsville, MS, (date unk.) Dr. Willis Fleet SIMMONS and his wife Annie HALL both born 1848 in Mississippi; he died 1888. I have no info on Annie's mother or father. Willis Fleet's father: George W. Simmons, b. May 1, 1820, MS. George W. was a plantation owner. Willis Fleet's mother: Mary Caroline MAGEE (or McGEE), b. Mar 25, 1829, Marion Co., MS, d. 1918, Magnolia, MS Willis Fleet and Annie's Children: Edgar J. 1871-1944, George O. 1872-1948, Robert Lee 1876 1942, Mamie (?), Ida Iola 1884-1965, Walter F. 1886, and Willis Roy 1888-1935. I have no info on Mary Caroline's mother or father. George W's mother: Jane GOSLIN, b. 1785 GA, d. 1851. George W's father: Willis SIMMONS, b. 1785 GA, d. 1862. George W. and Mary Caroline's children: Mason 1805-1885, William "Black Bill" 1807-1892, Willis 1810, Narcisse 1813-1880, John Richard 1816-1862, Mary 1819-1862, George W. 1820-1872, James J. 1825-1859.
