My name is Deirdre Carroll living in Dublin, Ireland. For some years I have been trying to establish what became of my great uncle John Manning/Mannion who left Ireland with his brother Michael in 1890 for New York. Michael settled in Holyoke and John went to Australia. It is known he had a son in WW1 who visited Ireland briefly at the time. John was born in the Kilbeacanty area Galway, and subsequently lived with his family in Crusheen, Clare. His family were herdsmen. I have closely examined Australian records and feel that he could have gone to NSW and/or Queensland. Presumably there are descendants out there?? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
