Can anyone throw any light onto the reason how or why a James Edgar became James Hegarty at around 1700 in Londonderry, Ireland and is there a later link with Armagh and Tyrone? Trying to find the early family/roots of Samuel Hegarty, born 1841, Cullentragh, Armagh.
