I am searching for my birth father. I was born to Frances "Ellen" Alexander on April 30, 1951, at the St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC. To the best of my knowledge, my birth mother was having an affair with a married man. They met in Clemson, SC and continued the relationship until I was born, then adopted. Obviously, her pregnancy and my existance were kept from both his and her families. According to accounts and information learned from her family members, my birth father may have been in the Air Force, probably serving at Donaldson Air Force Base, and also played the drums in a band. I have been told wildly divergent stories regarding his behavior and attitude towards my birth mother, especially when he was informed of the pregnancy. However, he supposedly visited her in the hospital after my birth which are hardly the actions of an uncaring individual. I, along with my wife and children, have had a wonderful twenty-five year relationship with my birth mother, her husband and daughters. I have met all of the Alexanders and have enjoyed the same acceptance from them. During that same twenty-five years, I have respected the fact that my presence created difficulties for Ellen's husband and have not pushed for answers to my questions. Now that he has passed nearly six months ago, it is time to find the answers. I am hoping at the same time, that my birth father or someone in his family may have been or continues to look for me and that this website will be some assistance in reuniting us and completing the circle started fifty-eight years ago. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
