I am looking for the family of Phineas GILBERT who died about 1840 in the Indiana area. Census shows he was married to Judah SHUMWAY and they had three children: Louise, Emily and Charles. Phineas may hav e been murdered. His wife remarried into the LIND family in 1849. She had three more children, one of whom she named Phineas after her deceased husband. I have extensive records descending from that point, but would like to know more about Phineas GILBERT and Judah SHUMWAY.
