Seeking William Edward Campbell, born between 1835 and 1856. Married Josephine Smithson between 1880 and 1885 in Lynchburg, Campbell County Virginia, USA. They resided in that area until Josephine moved with her 4 sons Washington A, Edward D, John W and Holcombe Pittman, Sr... appear on the 1900 census in Charlottesville, Albemarle, Virginia about 8 June, 1900.Josephine appeared in the 1900 census as a widow. It is believe that William may have been murdered or died strangely between winter or 1893 and winter of 1899. The first child was born in Sept. 1866 and the last July 1894. Josephine died in 1932. Josephine's father was George Washington Smithson and her mother Ann Elizabeth Caldwell. We know nothing about where William came from except all census records indicate he was born in Virginia. | |||||||||||||||||||||
