I have learned that I have Cree heritage on my father's mother's side of the family. A french trader with the last name Roget (later changed to Rogers)immigrated to canada I think around 1825-50. He 'married' a Cree woman and created my father's and my lineage. This is all very difficult to piece together because my father's mother (Armelda Rogers from Port Huron, Mi) was the youngest of five children and conversly died in childbirth bringing my father into this world.
