I have "hit a brick wall" in researching my grandfather, Julius Burnett. He was born in Nov. 1860 in Dayton GA (Echols County); was the son of Richard Burnett and Elizabeth Register: married Caroline Hicks (also known as Carey)who born in 1866 and was the daughter of Henry Hicks and Faraba Tillis. Julius homesteaded 80 acres of land in Polk County Florida in 1891. Julius and Caroline Burnett were living in Polk County Florida in the 1900 US census. Julius and Carey had 8 children. My father, Richard Burnett, was the 7th child; born Oct. 30, 1898. Julius's farm was next to James Henry Kirkland's farm in Medula, Florida. My father, Richard, lived with William Keen and Lula Kirkland Keen, as a young boy; as his parents were dead. I do not know when Julius and Caroline died, where they died, how they died, or where they are buried. The only Aunts I knew were Minnie Burnett and Sue Burnett Gould (both deceased). Can anyone help? geri burnett godfrey gerigodfrey@aol.com | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
