I am getting desperate... I am researching the MARLARS of Tishomingo County, Mississippi. We are descended through Thomas Franklin MARLAR, born in Tishomingo 1874-some census say 1873 to Eliza -? and Thomas or possibly a Daniel Marlar. I strongly believe that Thomas F.'s father is a Thomas Marlar born in Tish. Co. 1850, to a Daniel Marlar who married Perneathia "Neaty" Barnes in 1849. Thomas F.'s parents' last child was born in 1876 and then on the 1880 census, Thomas F. is listed with his siblings but his father is not and his mother is listed <widowed>. I cannot seem to find his father or his name anywhere on any cemetery records and am baffled about ideas on where to look. Obviously, he must have died between 1876 and 1880 but where? why?? Also, a census I found listed his mother's surname as "Hashlien" and no where can I find another surname like it.
