I too am looking for Wilkinson's that either came from VA or NC. They may possibly have come through Alabama. My G-G-grandfather James Henry Wilkinson (Brn.1834, in ?GA or ?AL) was married to Mary Amanda Highsmith Wilkinson (Brn 1838, Wayne Co., GA). They married in Levy Co. Fla. @ Ebenezer Baptist Church (where the record is found). James was a CSA veteran. He is buried in the Levyville Cemetery. She is buried in the Ebenezer cemetery. Her parents are buried in the Levyville Cemetery also. I am looking for James Henry's father. My G-Grandfather was Isaac Irwin Wilkinson (Brn, 11/13/1872 in Fla.) married to Lillie Ann Hutcheson (Brn 9/1/1877, in Wren GA). Isaac had many siblings. One brother was named Thomas James Wilkinson (1874-1958). Another brother who died was named Samuel Wilkinson (1876-1886). And the last significant male was James Henry Wilkinson, brn the year that his father, James Henry died: 1881. I have several siblings that are named Isabelle (1879), Sophronia Margaret (1869), Victoria Eugenia (1860), Elizabeth (1862), Frances (1860), Hilde (1865), Nancy (1865), Mary (1867), and Suzie Ann (1867). There is a John Wilkinson also a sibling born 1869 in Levy county Florida.We have no record of this child other than the name. We have no info concerning burial if any when young. Other siblings that died are listed in the Ebenezer cemetery. We believe that the Joseph Wilkinson of Levy County, who lived beside the family in several census of Levy County 1850, 1860 was a brother to James Henry Wilkinson's (Brn 1834) father. In a notation in his Bible, James Henry Wilkinson( 1881) states that his mother was " ' Sallie' Wilkinson and married old man Appel". In the 1860 census in Levy county a Sarah Appel is living with her husband Appell, and several McGowan children next to James Henry Wilkinson (Brn 1834) and on the other side of James H. Wilkinson is Joseph A. Wilkinson and a Charlotte Hatcher Wilkinson. Charlotte Hatcher and Joseph Wilkinson are buried on their old land which is pvt land now owned by someone else. Joseph owned slaves. Charlotte came from and was born in NC. This we are sure of. Joseph was born in 1802. Charlotte in 1808. Some time in the future the bodies are to be moved to Ebenezer cemetery, in Levy County Florida. I have a picture of Charlottes grave, the one of Joseph did not turn out. Any help to untangling these Wilkinson's and Hatcher's would be appreciated. I have spent 2 years researching to hit a wall at every turn. Linda S. Rowland
