Seeking information on my LEWIS family. James Richard (Jesse)LEWIS married Ferby PILES in Marion Co. IL. abt.1830. They migrated to MO. bet.1830-34. He died near ST. Louis, MO. just after crossing the Mississippi River. Looking for any LEWIS or PILE(S)relative left in IL. or that went to MO. with them. Ferby PILE(S)LEWIS later married George Mann. I don't know where my LEWIS family originated, some say Scotland. Where they were before Illinois, I'm not sure, but possibly NC.
