Seek background of my part-Native American GGrandmother Anna Elizabeth (Winney)Spencer (1870-1919), Wisconsin> Osceola Co., IA. Her parents were William H. Winney (1847-1907) and (Sarah) Elizabeth Taylor (1851-1872, Grant Co., WI). Elizabeth Taylor Winney died when Anna was only 2 years old. And William H. Winney was to marry a widow named Mary L. (Hickock) Stipkens with a small daughter named Cora Stipkens. Together William H. Winney and wife Mary L. had two sons: "Willie" and Lyle, b. in the 1880's in Grant Co., WI. They would all move to Osceola Co., Iowa in the 1880's. Regarding the Native American blood of my GGrandmother, I believe I have traced it back to Wm H. Winney's wife, Ann Eliza Blessing. Her parents were John Blessing and Eliza Wolfe, both born in Virginia in the very early 1800's or late 1700's. Does someone know how I can trace Eliza Wolfe's background in Virginia where she was born, and Missouri where she bore Ann Eliza? Thanks for any help.
