Query Text: |
Reseaching the family and ancestors of ABNER JOHNSON. Abner was born in New York in 1817. His parents unknown were from Vermont, possibly Lyndon, Caledonia, Vermont. He married Philura Plumb from North Rose, Wayne County, New York. She was born in 1821 to Green Plumb and Melinda Richardson. Both Abner and Philura are on the 1840 census in Butler, Wayne County, New York. They had four children while in Wayne County. Kirk born 1840, Mark born 1842, Alice (Allie) born in 1844, and Stephen Allen born in 1849 in Wolcott, New York. They aren't on any 1850 census that I have found. They may have been in the process of migrating to Michigan at that time. Abner and Philura settled first in Armada, Macomb County, Michigan where son Roswell was born in 1859. They moved again to Wales Township in St. Clair County, Michigan were they had a large farm and are buried.I am looking for a connection to any of the Johnsons who may be related to Abner back in New York or Vermont. He was a carpenter in New York and a farmer in Michigan. My grandmother said he may have been Scottish. I have records on all of Abner and Philura's descendants but none on his family or ancestors. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
