Looking for information on the descendants of Claiborne and Elizabeth Travis Wright who went to Lamar Co area of Texas from Tennessee. I'm really looking for a Benjamin Swain Wright who may have been their grandson. Ben apparently married twice. His eldest daughter said her mother was a full blooded Indian (tribe and name unknown). His married his second wife in TN when Exie Clio was only 5 months old and they had several more children. Ben's parents were George and Lee Swain Wright. George died after 1873 in TX, then Lee returned to Houston Co TN where she and 5 children were living at the time of the 1880 census. We cannot find direct links to Claiborne Wright, but older family members recall visiting Wright relatives near Paris TX. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
