I am trying to find the father of my great-grand father. His name was John Washington Swope-born in 1823-I believe in W. Virginia. His mother's name was Catherine Keefer (not sure of spelling) but there has never been any mention of his father. John Washington was married to Susanna Warner-they moved to Dixon, Ill., where my grand-father was born in 1854-later moving to Guthrie Center, Iowa-where JW died in 1908 and Susanna in1904. The only mention of Catherine Keefer was in the Jasper County, Iowa 1870 census. She was 82 at the time. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
