I am an adoptee searching for my biological family. The original documents showed my birthday as being in October, but my birth date was changed to November 3, 1959, when my adoption was finalized. My adopted parents are Joann Felske Townsend and Richard Townsend. I was told that I was 21 days old when placed with my adoptive parents, but I question the accuracy since my birth date was later changed. I was born at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN and adopted from St. Elizabeth's Home in Beech Grove, Indiana. I was told that my mother requested a Catholic family, and my 1st name was Louise before I was adopted, but changed to Janice Marie. I don't know if my mother named me Louise, or the adoption agency. My birth mom was petite and fair complected, possibly brown-eyed, and was a high school grad. My father was 6 feet plus, had brown hair, blue eyes, medium complexion and build, and was also a high school grad. Both were of Irish and English descent, and one had a a bit of German as well. One or both were extremely intelligent, as both I and my children have all tested out in the top 1%. I am also very musically inclined. I was a difficult birth, a forceps baby, but only normal conditions were present at birth. No known medical history on either parent. We do have a genetic defect w/ our knees, so we all have unusually large calves as a family trait. My adoption was handled by Joe Rautenberg, but I am unsure of the spelling of his last name. My pediatrician, Dr. Kirkhoff may have had knowledge of my birth mother. I believe I weighed either 6lbs.7oz. or 6lbs.11oz. at birth and was 19 inches long. I have blonde hair, blue/green eyes, fair but tan very easily, short, and stocky with very thick hair and very distinct calf muscles. Looking to connect with any possible biological family members. I've been searching my whole life to no avail, and would love to meet my birth parents before it's too late.
