Looking for info on Civil War veteran Edward Nathaniel Moore, a.k.a. Gipp or Kipp, who served with the 87th Pennsylvania Infantry. Moore's mother, Mary, married Daniel Gipp and Edward assumed his step-father's name but revereted to his "mother's maiden name" later in life. He was born Apr 20, 1824, probably in York, Pennsylvania, and died October 15, 1907, in Mountain View, Howell County, Missouri. He had three brothers who served in the 87th Pennslyvania: Alexander, Peter A., and John W., who all went by Kipp, Gipp, or Gibb. Edward married Lovina Seifert and divorced her, then remarried divorcee Lavonia Reece Thayer November 12, 1865. Children: Laura Thayer (b. 04/07/50) and Charles; Lavonia had a daughter, Eliza Seiple, to the man she was keeping house for, Zachariah Seiple. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
