I have been searching for William H. Valentine b. 1827 & Mary J Smith for over 25 years. Now I find he may have been married to a Mary J. Graham instead of Smith. These are my great grandparents, so I really know nothing except my grandfather James Marion was born in MO 1863/64 & William may have been born in Ark 1827. By 1880 they were in Wise Co. TX and by 1890 they were in what is now Stephens Co. OK. By 1896 James was in Dewey Co. OK, and back in Stephens Co. by 1901. If anyone can help I would be so grateful. I believe James had a brother named Robert Jennings Valentine, born 1853 MO and sisters named Emma and Rosa who I believe were both born in TX and Sarah I believe born in MO. There were probable older sibilings born before 1863. In Texas I found in a William H. Valentine & DW Valentine with Land Patents in Montague Co. I also found a William H. Valentine in DeKalb, MO filing a Land Patent. Most of my information on William came from my grandparents marriage cert. and census. The rest on the Internet.
