My g-g-g-grandfather was presumably from Quebec being of French background. In a marriage record found in Alexandria, Ontario - St-Finnian's Church 1841 - he was named Baptiste Bareau, but the name was originally BARON. He married Adelaide (Emile)Rockbrune/Rochbrune/Larocque/Lacrocuebrune) d/o Thomas LaRocquebrune & Scholastique St-Michel - he was listed as a vagabondus. He did work in a concession in Alexandria, but no detailed records available just a continuation of that "brickwall". They had a son and daughter born in Alexandria, Ontl. before they traveled to US - Franklin County, New York. I have researched MANY websites, FamilySearch.com films, but cannot find any actual record of his parents, origins or name of his 1st wife.
