I am looking for information about my gg-grandparents. Here is what I know FOR SURE - meaning, I have documentation. My gg-grandfather was Herman H. PLOGMANN (PLOGMAN, BLOGMANN), he was born 6-12-1838 in Hanover, Germany. He came to the United States about 1858. He married first, Maria Angela FRANZEN in Cincinnati, Ohio on 2-4-1862. They had three children: Mary (b.1863), Herman Bernard (b.abt. 7-31-1864), and Anna (b. abt. 1867). Maria Angela FRANZEN PLOGMANN died in June of 1870 and was buried 6-2-1870. Herman H. PLOGMANN married second my gg-grandmother Catherine KLONNE (?). Catherine KLONNE was born in Germany on 4-18-1845. She came to the US about 1866. Their first known child(ren) was (were) born about March 1873. I believe there were twins: Heinrich, who died on 1-18-1876 and Edward. The next child was Catherine E. (born about 1-28-1877...my g-grandmother), Harry, b. abt. 1879, and Carry, who was born about 1882. I have yet to locate the marriage record of Herman and Catherine, but the births of their children puts their marriage between the death of Herman's first wife in June of 1870, and the birth of their first children in March of 1873. One of the big questions besides their marriage date is: what was Catherine's maiden name for sure, and who was her family? I cannot find her in the 1870 census, nor can I find Herman. The only record of Catherine's maiden name that I have is a Cincinnati Catholic Cemetery Stat sheet from when my g-grandmother died in 1961. The relative that reported the info was my grandpa. The maiden name was stated as KLONNE. There are PLOGMANNS on both sides of my mom's family, would love to sort out exactly who belonged to whom.
