An ancestor named Louisa Dietz is buried about seven miles west of Winchester at the Maxville/Woodlawn cemetary. A Winchester librarian sent me information that states that the stone on Louisa's grave was "broken thru." Perhaps because of this the dateof death was not readable. Apparently the data she sent me was from a book in which the cemetary stones were transcribed for the "Old Maxville Section." Louisa is in Row 19 grave 2. It reads: Louisa, w/o George Deitz d(...) Dec 18(...) ae 39-1-11 (Stone broken thru... I can tell you that Louisa's maiden name was Lecrone. If anyone is familiar with this cemetary, and could easily give that stone a second look, I would be very appreciative. I believe she died (probably) in October of November of 1857. Her last child was three in the 1860 census. I'm also searching for information on her son John H. Dietz/Deitz/Deeds (the family went by all variations at different times) who does not appear on the 1860 census. My belief is that he joined the Civil War and was killed, but I haven't been able to prove this. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
