Am searching for any conne cations to the Howley Family from Co. Mayo. My great grandparents wereMartin Howley and Mary Mc Gowan. They were tenant farmers in Ballywinchy( Ball- a-win -a-her) later known as Cloondolough.I believe that this is near Kiltimagh. They had ten children. My grandmother,,Maria, was the oldest daughter born in 1876. She emigrated to the US and settled in Chester Pa.She married Francis (Frank) Robinson in 1902.He was from Aghamore. Martin and Mary's children were John( believe he died in infancy),Maria,Catherine(?died in childhood),Ellen,a infant female who may have been a stillborn, Bridget( or Theresa),Michael, Patrick, Annie and Margaret. Margaret was the only one to stay in Ireland. She married John Conlon and I think one of their sons Paddy, remains on the farm today. Any info re: my great grandparents or the Howleys in general would be appreciated.Idon't know where my great grandparents are buried or when they died. I think that there are distant cousins in Pa. ,Mass. ,and Rockaway , NY. Am told that cousin family names are. Murtaugh, Killgallen ,Byrnes or Burns and Brennan . Most likely there are more.My grandmother 's sisters married into the Garvey and Cannon families who were also from Co. Mayo. Thanks, Maureen | |||||||||||||||||||||
