I am looking for information on my grandfather, Michael Joseph McVeigh, who was born in Ireland around 1870 (+-1 year). All the information I can find shows he was born in County Sligo. He was married to Mary Josephine Derrig (McVeigh). She was born September 8, 1871 also in Ireland and is also believed to be from County Sligo. It is possible that they may hail from another area and actually departed from County Silgo. They emigrated to the United States around 1889, 1890, or 1891 as best as I can tell from copies of the 1910 and 1920 US Census, although, my mother believed it was in 1895. I believe that they were married in a Catholic Church in Ireland presumably in the mid to late 1880's. They lived in Nevada and California here in the United States. They had 4 sons and one daughter all born in the United States. They were Emmett, Margaret, James, Francis and Leslie. If you may have any information please email me.
