/My grandmother was Filomena Colangelo she died in stamford CT. july 4 1915. She was married to Francesco Faccinto,April 3, 1909 in Hartford, CT. Francesco Faccinto came to the United States Dec. 24, 1903 at the age of 21 sponsored by Uncle Rocco Palmieri/Palmer, 55 Stillwater Ave. same place that Rose Faccinto was born sept. 4, 1913 Stamford, Ct. Rocco Palmieri/Palmer was an uncle to Crisanne Palmieri Mobilia, of Hartford, Ct. The whereabouts of Francesco Faccinto are unknown except that he planned to go back to Italy after his wife Filomena Colangelo Faccinto died July 4, 1915 in Stamford, CT. i visited the grave in Stamford, Ct. sept. 10, 2004, it stands behind the LaSalle grave at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Darien, CT. Francesco Faccinto was beside himself after his wife died and he put his children in Highland Heights, New Haven, Ct. now in 2004 known as St. Francis Home for Boys. His 3 children were my father Anthony Joseph Facciuto,b. 10/9/11, Stamford, CT. Rosa Faccinto b. 9/4/13 stamford, ct. and William Paul Facciuto b. 5/5/10 b. Hartford. All deceased now. I have new information from the NARA Feb.10, 2004 Filomena Colangelo was 17 yrs. old, single , weaver, could not read or write, from Forenza, Italy her brother Rocco colangelo paid for her to come to the US and she was going to Hartford, Ct. She came from Italy June 13, 1906. She was traveling with Philomena Palmieri who was the wife of Rocco Colangelo and there were two children Inez 3 and Venice 5, both girls. You can find this family on the 1920 Hartford, Ct. census . Rocco Colangelo was born in 1874. More children were listed on that census:Joseph 12, Anthony 10, Lena 8, Helen 6, William 4, Viola 2, and Robert 1/12, Venice was 19, and Inez is not listed(she may have married )Henry was born in 1922, shortly before his father Rocco colangelo died in 1924 from Cancer. Rocco's wife died in 1952.All are buried at MT. St.Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield, CT. I hope this new information will help you to contact me. I am Filomena's granddaughter. I found Helen Colangelo Williams obit, daughter to Rocco colangelo and Philomena Palmieri Colangelo she died March 24, 2004 in Los Alamos , NM where she lived near her son and daughter in law. Helen was buried in Rocky Hill, CT. at the age of 90, the only sibling still living is Henry colangelo, 82 and his son Kenny Colangelo in the CT. area. I plan to visit them in sept. of 2004 . I have just come back from CT. sept.12, 2004 where i got to visit my relatives. Henry colangelo 82, looks a lot like my brother, I Betty Facciuto McLaughlin am an only child. Henry's son kenny is 50 and all the relatives opened their hearts and arms to me. I met with Antoinette Mobilia 86, who knew all about my dad Anthony Joseph Facciuto, she said he was a good looking and lively man and when he worked at Pratt and Whitney in the 40's used to visit her. She knew my uncle Bill, Fr.william Paul Facciuto who was ordained in 1937 and she knew my aunt Rose Faccinto, who came to visit her with the Colangelos. Antoinette's mother was Crisanne Palmieri Mobilia, her father was Dominicangelo Mobilia and the family consists of Peter and Mary(deceased) Anna, and Rose. Francesco Faccinto also had a brother Vito Faccinto who married a Mary in Hartford, Ct. and from that family i have 6 girl cousins and 1 boy cousin, living in many states. Francesco Faccinto had a sister Egidia Faccinto Morlino, husband Francesco and 2 children who traveled with their parents Antonia, and Maria. Antonia was the mother to Dolly Morlino Carson, another cousin from CT. I wish to notify all concerned that Henry Colangelo died Feb. 4, 2007, he is the last sibling of rocco Colangelo, his mother was Philomena Palmieri Colangelo. Henry will be sadly missed by his son Kenny Colangelo, of Windsor, CT. and me Betty Facciuto Mclaughlin , who only found Henry in 2004 and 2005, but i had great memories of him along with recordings of his voice and his time he spent with the seabees during world war 2. WE love you henry. Anyone wishing to contact me may do so at efacciuto59@yahoo.com Betty Facciuto McLaughlin | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
