I'm looking for my birth mother and/or birth father. I was born on 9/8/1971 and adopted in the following days in Wichita, Kansas. Here's the information that I know for certain: I was born prematurely on September 8, 1971 in Wichita, Kansas at the Osteopathic Hospital of Wichita. I was adopted by a pastor and his wife who lived in Colorado at the time. The adoption was facilitated by a private doctor named Dr. Wolfe. My birth mother's name was Edith C. Stevenson. At that time she was 22. I also have the street address of where she lived at the time, and the state she was born in for verification purposes. Here's information that I have that may or may not be accurate: The birth mother was possibly a college student, nursing student, or perhaps already a nurse. The birth father was possibly an engineering or architecture student. They were not married at the time. I don not have, but am interested in discovering, the birth father's name. It seems also helpful to say a little bit of why I'm doing this search and what I am expecting. I turned 40 last year and have been in a process of counseling and understanding my life, and I'm interested in knowing more about where and who I came from. I don't have a big gaping whole in my life because of my adoption; quite the opposite. I feel loved both by a birth mother who made an enormous sacrifice so I could have a good life, and loved deeply by the family I was given. So, I'm not desperate for healing or answers or justification. I'm just interested in knowing more about myself and where I came from. | |||||||||||||||||||||
