I am trying to track the PETTY family which started on Long Island and came across NJ eventually to NW NJ to Sussex/Warren CO. My ancestor is Joseph Petty, b. 3/18/1765 perhaps in NJ who moved to Perry Co., OH in 1808. Me married Elizabeth, perhaps a MIDDAGH or VANATTA, had ten children in NJ and left. Other NJ families who came to OH are PEPPLE, PARGIN, STINE, STOLTZ, MIDDAGH, VANATTA, and BARNES. He may have been the s/o Capt. John PETTY and wife Margaret but we have no documentation. Is there a family Bible or records anywhere in eastern NJ to help us w/ this brick wall? Any hints/help appreciated. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
