Query Text: |
My husbands grandfather and his family,.he came into this country in 1905 from Germany, however he was Polish. When his wife and children came in 1907... they both entered through Baltimore. But we know they eventually stayed for some time in Ohio for that was wher another child was born and they were in the 1910 census. My question..on the passenger list of Josef Filipak, he is met by a man named Johan Bak, and destination is listed as Allegheny, Penn. Was that area a "center" for immigrants to be processed and sent to various locations at a later date? The children of the family remember Ohio, and somewhat of Pennsylvania..so were they taken to Penn. first? | |||||||||||||||||||||
