Seeking my birth parents and sibling. My birth name was Susan Lee Engels and I was born at 9:30 a.m. on October 18, 1949 to Carl Joseph Engels and Ethel Bernice Juhl Engels at Garfield Park Community Hospital in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Birth dad was 25 and a clerk and birth mom was 20 and a homemaker. According to the non-certified copy of my original birth certificate my birth mother had 2 children born to her before my birth but it seems one of those siblings died at some point before I was born. Attorney M. J. Freedman handled the closed adoption, allowing me to be adopted at the age of 4 days to Arnold Beryl Topin and Frances Serena Unger Topin. I believe I was delivered by Dr. Seymour Handleman but his signature on the birth certificate is not totally legible. I was born with strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes, 5 lbs., 18 inches. I am having some rather involved medical issues and I need to find out as much info as I can as my daughter and I already share one of these issues which is said to be genetic. Please contact me. I've been waiting almost 63 years to find some closure. I understand there is a good chance my birth parents may be deceased by now but I'm hoping my sibling will see this query! My adopted name is Teresa Jeanne Topin Kaufman.I HAVE FOUND THE JUHL HALF OF MY BIRTH FAMILY!
